The Topper Awards: The Oscars of Community Theatre

The Amandi celebrating the success of "A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody" (pronounced A-Man-DYE)
Heidelberg Pavallion

Amanda, Christina, Lily and me at the award show

Me and the award.

This is the award ceremony for community theater in the Garrisons in Europe. Yes I was nominated for doing make up. No I did not win. The play Cats won, seriously how can I compete with that?

The award show is like the Oscars without any acceptance speeches. But there are musical numbers between awards. I had a great time. And the great time continued when we went to the bar on base and continued to party. This was the night that Amanda thought we could hang out. Why you may ask because I put in a song to sing for karaoke and when they called Linda and no one responded Amanda suggested that I should sing Linda's song and I agreed with this idea. Needless to say, the karaoke men knew I was not Linda and I never was able to sing my song, "More than a Feeling" by Boston. I also go to dance to the Cupid Shuffle. What up!

Birthday in Germany

The cake my mom's friend Renata made for me, cream cheese with real cake. Yum!
My co-workers and I celebrating.
There is me, Manfred, Alex, Erik, Axel and Gordon.
Gordon, Manfred and me eating dirt cake.

Doing as Germans do, I made a cake for my birthday. It is dirt cake.

My co-workers were very sweet and bought me a Lonely Planet travel guide to Germany. I am so excited to use it.

Kulinarische Wanderung in Oppenheim

\

The ruins at the last wine booth.
Me at the last booth on what should have been my ninth glass but was truly my tenth wine sample of the day.
I liked the strawberry wine so much and tried to buy a bottle but did not have enough money so the man in the booth gave a full glass for free so this is me trying to drink both my sample and my full glass at the same time.
The sheet indicating what booths we have visited. This is the seventh one.
Here I am standing in the vineyards of Germany

On April 18th, my parents and I went to Oppenheim for the Kulinarische Wanderung. We paid five Euros and received a lanyard with a glass. There were nine stands where you could sample the wine and there were food stands at each one where you could purchase food. It was a beautiful day and I learned that I like strawberry wine. In fact I liked the strawberry wine so much that the person working at the booth gave a full free glass of it. The last stand was in the ruins. At the end of the tour, you got a free gift of a bottle of beer, a bottle of wine or a bottle of water, your choice.

Ulm

With its spire of 161.53 meters it is the tallest church spire in the world.

Astrological Clock

Bird statues all over town. Legend has it that when the church was being built that had issues with getting the wood into the structure and they could not figure it out until they saw a bird bring items in to build its nest.

Ulm is the birthplace of many famous people including: Albert Einstein, Hans and Sophie Scholl.

Wiesbaden & The Kurhaus

My dad and I in front of the world's biggest cuckoo clock. Impressive, huh!
The remains of the old Kurhaus
Stained glass in the Kurhaus
The Kurhaus

The Kurhaus is one of the casinos in Wiesbaden. Some guy wrote the book the Player about how he lost his money lost.

Correction: The guy's name is Dostoevsky, he lived in Wiesbaden in 1860's and book was named The Gambler.

Rothenburg - the Walled City

my mom and Corky coming out of the walled city.

My dad, Corky, and I next to the wall.
St Jakob's church
My mom, Corky, and I in front of the Easter egg in this crown thing. I actually know nothing about it. I just thought it looked cool.

It is a huge city for tourists. We pretty much only saw Americans and Japanese people.

And I had the worst spatzle in my life here. Now that is impressive. :)We went to the museum of Torture and Punishment.

The city name means "Red fortress above the Tauber". Chitty,Chitty, Bang, Bang was filmed here.
